Col de Vars – the border pass between the Hautes-Alpes and Alpes-de-Haute-Provence departments

Day 6 of the Alpine Marathon 2022 – in 7 days through 6 countries over 50 passes – brings the team from SnapShortFilm and Harry’s Bike Tours ever closer to the Cote d’Azur. The pass marks about half of the day’s route of a good 300 kilometres. Ideal, as the restaurant with its small, typically French menu is highly recommended. However, you should be patient. The couple who run the restaurant are certainly long past their “golden wedding anniversary”. The road up to the pass, coming from the Col de l’Izoard, is wide and easy to drive on. The bends are sweeping and a lot of fun to ride.

The SnapShortFilm team accompanied Harry’s Bike Tours and some selected participants for the TV report “The Alpine Marathon” and captured many impressive impressions of the Alpine passes. The double episode will be shown from spring 2023. On television on motorvision.tv, and on demand on the video platform motomovie.de.
